Bishop Heelan competes in the Missouri River Activities Conference. Members of the MRAC along with Heelan are the Sioux City public schools (East, North, West), Council Bluffs, Abraham Lincoln, Council Bluffs, Thomas Jefferson, LeMars and Sergeant Bluff-Luton. Bishop Heelan has won their fair share of conference titles since the formation of the league in 2000, and those championships are listed below. The only sport that Heelan does not compete in the MRAC is football, as Heelan has competed in district football in Class 3A since 2006.
