Crusader Cakes, Warming Shelter donations, a first-ever All Schools Mass for 1700 and a STEM night will be among the highlights of National Catholic Schools Week Jan. 26 - Feb. 1 for Bishop Heelan Catholic Schools. Activities focus on students, clergy, community service, academic growth and celebrating family.
The week opens with Heelan faculty flipping pancakes for students at Heelan High School.
Highlights of the Week
Monday, Jan. 27 – Focus on Students
• Faculty members flip Crusader Cakes at for students at Bishop Heelan High School to start the school day
• Door Decorating Contest is held at all schools
Tuesday, Jan 28: Focus on Faith
• At 9:45 a.m. over 1,000 students will be bussed to Heelan to join students in an All School Mass
• A Clergy Luncheon with priests will follow at Heelan.
• Students will write appreciation letters to go home in 3rd quarter report card mailings.
Wednesday, Jan. 29: Focus on Community
• Heelan students will bring in hygiene items and Holy Cross students will bring in cereal or granola bars to benefit the Warming Shelter. (Other schools will make cash donations.)
• A Parent Indoor Picnic will be held at Sacred Heart School at 11:30 a.m.
Thursday Jan. 30: Focus on Family
• A Parent Indoor Picnic at Holy Cross and Mater Dei schools will be held at 11:30 a.m.
• A STEM night will be held for PS-2nd graders at Holy Cross St. Michael School at 5:30 p.m.
Friday, Jan. 31: Celebrating Faculty and Staff
• Sacred Heart School students will spend the morning in a major Readathon 8:45-11:45 a.m.
• It's Faculty vs 8th Grade Volleyball at Nativity
• Teacher Staff Appreciation Breakfast treats will be served at Heelan
• Early dismissal
Saturday, Feb. 1
• Holy Cross PTO family fun day at the Heelan CYO, 1- 3 p.m.
