Service Projects

Teams of eighth graders in our schools put their faith into action during service trips during the school year.

urban plunge kids

They have embarked on “Urban Plunge” trips where they work in soup kitchens and serve in homeless shelters sorting donated clothing and seeing the effects of inner city poverty. Students address what they’ve experienced and learned and discuss possible solutions to address the issues of poverty in communities.

They also travel to support retired sisters in Dubuque where they rake lawns, clean, bake cookies and play games with retired religious. As part of their experience student discuss their service and its meaning in living their faith.
