Preschools for Four Year Olds
We offer a Preschool at each Bishop Heelan elementary school to provide a nurturing, caring and faith-based curriculum that helps your child develop skills to succeed in elementary school. Our days offer a combination of group free play, a curriculum, and activities in art, music and physical education.
Creative Curriculum
Our preschool curriculum offers your child a hands-on foundation in reading, math, science, technology and social studies. This prepares your child for the more formal learning setting of kindergarten. Music and art receive special attention.
Healthy Food and Play
Children will receive two healthy snacks and a nutritious lunch each day. Play is critical for preschoolers. We offer a safe and fun dedicated outdoor play area as well as colorful indoor equipment to keep young children busy on poor weather days.
A Plan for Each Child
We assess your child for social emotional and physical development and language and cognitive skills. After creating individualized lesson plans, we track your child's progress.
Parent Conferences
At parent conferences we review your child's progress with you. It's a wonderful experience for parents to hear about their child and a good opportunity to know if a child needs special attention at home in working with others.
Preschool Initiative
Our Preschools are proud members of the Sioux City Preschool Initiative Program, a cooperative of preschool providers committed to high quality curriculum for four-year-old children. This means your child receives instruction and guidance from a licensed teacher who has earned a bachelors degree.

Tuition*
$4,000 for an Iowa child who qualifies for the Iowa Preschool Initiative age 4, by Sept. 15 of the current year.
$5,100 for other children
*Tuition Assistance is available for families who qualify.
