Monsignor Lafferty Tuition Grants Help Hundreds of Bishop Heelan Students 
Supporters who give to the Monsignor Lafferty Tuition Foundation helped 571 students in our schools with their tuition last school year. This year we can help even more. In 2022 our goal is over $900,000 to help fund tuition grants to help students pay for a Catholic education.

Givers Enjoy the Best Tax Credit in Iowa
When you donate to the Lafferty Foundation and other Student Tuition Organizations in the state you receive the best tax credit in Iowa -- a whopping Iowa state income tax credit of 75% of your donation. All individuals and businesses that pay Iowa taxes can receive tax credits with a donation to the Lafferty Foundation. Persons who live out of state but work in Iowa and pay Iowa taxes can donate as well.

What is the Lafferty Tuition Foundation?
The Lafferty Tuition Foundation is a charitable 501(c)(3) student tuition organization (STO) in Iowa, established in 2006 to grant tax credits. The Iowa state legislature approves the tax credits in recognition of the value of non-public education in Iowa. State lawmakers require STOs to raise funds to provide tuition grants for families with incomes at or below 400 percent of the poverty level.

• The Lafferty Foundation is administered by the Diocese of Sioux City and all donations and student tuition grants are processed through there. Each donor receives a tax credit certificate to file with their taxes.
