Beyond the Bell is now hosting an afterschool program for students at Holy Cross – St. Michael School from school dismissal to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. It includes early outs if lunch is provided by the school.
In the program staff members interact with students with a focus on safety, academics, youth development, recreation/fitness and STEM with activities include daily homework help, a literacy center, mentoring, service learning and more.
The cost is $52 per week includes a daily snack, art and school supplies.
BTB is DHS licensed at all site locations which means they offer a 1 staff to 15 student ratio. All staff members are certified in CPR and first aid, they are mandatory reporters and have undergone background and fingerprint checks.
BTB has been running before, after, and summer school programming since 2001 in the greater Sioux City area. The program is also offered at Sacred Heart School. Program partners include United way of Siouxland, the Siouxland Human Investment Partnership (SHIP) and Sioux City and South Sioux City Community Schools.
